Last week...

Hi Theo,

A big thank you to those who attended my event at the Haymarket Hotel last week! You made it a special occasion!

It makes a big difference to meet face to face and share experiences; knowing we are not alone in figuring out the next steps to grow our businesses.

The topic of our meeting was The Art of Effective Storytelling and how we can use our own stories to create connections and personalise our brands.

Expressed well, stories can inspire us to change, achieve, sort things out and take risks!

Yet, I know it can be challenging, sometimes, to share our own stories; especially when others don't really know us.

There are, however, some simple formulas you can follow....

Crafting a story starts with clarity around these questions:

~ Who is my audience?

~ What is the main message I want to share with them?

~ What unique solutions have I experienced, developed or can offer?

~ What results have I achieved?

Popular formats for story telling range from ...

Failure Stories. As humans, we tend to relate to failures since we've all failed at one time or another...

Rags-to-riches. It can be inspiring to hear how people have turned their fortunes around and....

Simple Stories. These can be just as powerful and meaningful. Especially, when they help your audience shift their perspective or assumptions and see things in another way.

Recently, the Dragons, on Dragons Den, were all won over by a participant who has developed cosmetics for men (War Paint for Men).

They were particularly drawn to the story behind his brand.

Did you see it? You can watch the clip on the home page of his website here

We had an interesting discussion about stories that appeal and why, and how much we feel comfortable sharing.

I wonder which ones you relate to and which ones turn you off?

After continuing our conversation over lunch, I visited another luxury venue in London, as I'm planning a Business Building day, for a small group of business owners.

We'll be focusing on how to make a greater impact in terms of visibility, reputation, credibility and client engagement in 2020.

As there are only 6 places available please let me know if you are interested and we can arrange to  have a conversation  to check if this is a fit for you. You can email me here

To your success,

Susan sig
