A winter solstice ritual to connect and realign

Hi Theo,    The celebration of Winter Solstice (also known as Yule) is one of the oldest winter celebrations in the world.  It can be a beautiful way to remember that our lives are part of something bigger which is constantly changing and renewing.   I love to create rituals for my business as a way of acknowledging and appreciating the opportunities I've received and to gain clarity on what to do next.   It cultivates an attitude of receptiveness and appreciation that helps me through any cycle or phase in my business.    Winter has a slower, quieter rhythm so a simple solstice ritual can guide you to connect deeply and energetically with what you want to create in 2018.   ~ Find a quiet time and space, away from any distractions, where you can light a candle or diffuse essential oils such as...   Frankincense (to align with inner peace, love and compassion)   Cinnamon (to increase your connection with the divine and your intuitive skills) and   Myrrh (to ground and clear out negativity)   ~ Write down all the things you've achieved over the past year and all that you are grateful for in your business and life.   ~ Reflect on what didn't manifest.  For whatever reason it was not meant to be.  Release all of this without blame, guilt or shame.   It's a time to say goodbye to the old, and welcome the new.   ~ Take a moment to get in touch with your inner wisdom through meditation.  What are your deepest yearnings - is it for creativity, communication, relationships, vitality, financial abundance?    This is not about what you should be doing but what your intuition is guiding you towards.  You may feel energy begin to rise within you.  Make a note of your ideas, images or feelings.   ~ Focus on one or two areas that you want to bring to fruition in the next six months and get very clear on what this will look like.  Clarity and alignment are the first steps in being able to manifest what you want.   ~ Write down how you will need to show up in order to have this in your life (This is very different from writing a list of actions). Embrace creativity. Let go of comparing and conforming

Hi Theo,    A chapter in Brene Brown's book, The Gifts of Imperfection, caught my attention, last night. It was about cultivating creativity and letting go of comparison.  She writes "It's easy to see how difficult it is to make time for important things such as creativity, gratitude, joy and authenticity where we're spending enormous amounts of energy conforming and competing"   And she goes on to say that "Creativity, which is the expression of our originality, helps us to stay mindful that what we bring to the world is completely original and cannot be compared"   I believe this is so important for our wellbeing (especially at this time of year!).   When we allow ourselves to fully express who we are and what we do, we are being unique and meaningful in our work and our lives.   I notice how much my energy and enthusiasm soars when I attend art classes, wander through museums and galleries or just take some photographs.   This week I made my first Christmas Wreath at a workshop organised by Fiona who owns an eco-friendly flower business called Daisy Works.  All sorts of thoughts went through my mind about not being good enough but in the end I became completely absorbed and didn't worry about comparing myself with everyone else making their own beautiful, unique wreaths. The gift of slowing down

Hi Theo,    Do you feel that days, weeks and months seem to pass so quickly?  I've barely caught up with September and now it's October!      Last week I spent a few days in Yorkshire exploring the beautiful landscape and this quote by Wayne Dyer really resonated with me ... "Become slower in your journey through life. Practice yoga and meditation if you suffer from 'hurry sickness.' Become more introspective by visiting quiet places such as churches, museums, mountains and lakes. Give yourself permission to read at least one novel a month for pleasure."   I often find it difficult to switch off from my business (mainly because I love what I do!), but recently I've made a conscious effort to read more literature, travel and enjoy nature. As a result I've noticed and appreciated the wealth of opportunities and abundance around me.   And it has made a big difference in my approach to life and work.   By slowing down and becoming more present we allow space to get to know ourselves, spark our creativity and connect with what's really important for our personal and professional wellbeing.   This might mean using any renewed energy, which is released, to increase our visibility and reach a wider audience.   At other times we may want to add greater depth to our service and work with fewer clients.   My new programme, which starts in January 2018, will provide this creative retreat space for a small group of female business owners who want to explore, ignite and manifest something special in their work.   As there are only a few places available you can reserve your place now or if you have questions please just reply to this email or contact info@susantomlinson.com   Please click here for the details   I do hope you will join us!
