How and why I'm simplifying my business

Hello Theo,

In the early years of my business, I had to get out and about, arrange meetings and network to find clients, as there was no social media and even the internet was unpredictable!

It worked very well for me, however …

Since then, advances in technology, digital marketing and social media have to a greater extent taken over and although I enjoy the creative content, I do feel the process of running a business has become more complicated and overwhelming.

So, I’ve decided to simplify everything!

Simplifying business is about optimizing resources to achieve your goals, reduce stress, increase productivity, and pave the way for sustainable growth.

Here's how to do it...

~ Develop a business model with a focus on core offers. Identify your most profitable products or services and concentrate on increasing your reach, adding value to what you offer and raising your rates.

Streamline business expenses. I regularly review my expenses (monthly, quarterly, and annually) as I’ve noticed how costs and expenses can soon add up over the year.

~ Delegate or outsource non-core tasks, which someone else can do more effectively.

~ Use technology to automate and schedule. For one of my platforms, I prepare and schedule content one month in advance. It doesn’t take much time or effort and it’s very easy to implement. I also use Hautestock's high quality images and videos. You can find out more here and use my affiliate code of susanloves for 15% off.

~ Create vs Consume. I can find myself going on social media to look up something or someone and immediately forget my reason for being there. What a waste of time and energy! I’ve now deleted several of the apps off my phone. Switching on the computer and logging on to, for example, LinkedIn means I make more conscious decisions about my time, which leads me onto the next point…

~ Prioritise tasks, and block out time for content creation, networking, and personal development. I’m learning to say no to commitments and distractions that don’t elevate me, or my business.

~ Re-purpose content. I will adapt posts I’ve written and use them on different social media platforms, blogs and presentations.

~ And finally, I regularly review and audit my business goals to understand what is and isn’t working so I can declutter, let go and focus on next steps.

If you'd like support to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of your business let's connect for an exploratory conversation.

Why I love strength training with weights!

About 18 months ago I started strength training with weights, and I love it!

There are so many benefits to strength or resistance workouts, which I wasn’t aware of when I first started.

As well as increased stamina and leaner muscles it can help with bone and joint health, improved posture, enhanced metabolism and Insulin sensitivity, mental well-being, better sleep and improved cognitive functions.

And so much more!

Dr Michael Mosley explains this in more detail on his BBC Sounds episode, where he explores how strength training can benefit your waistline, you brain and even help you live longer.

You can listen to his Stay Strong episode here

Wishing you an amazing October, as we head towards the end of 2023!

Are you seeking insights, inspiration, accountability and support?

Hello Theo,

Are you excited about the possibility of making a lot more money and having a greater impact in your business?

Or are you feeling nervous and fearful because it's not happened yet?

I've experienced many emotions since I left my well paid corporate role, but over the years I've learned and gained a wealth of knowledge and insights, which have helped me to develop strategies and spot opportunities for myself and others whatever the circumstances.

Which is why I love to work with motivated female business owners, who are Consultants working with Corporate Clients, Creatives, Coaches and Healers.

Together we create an achievable, yet inspiring, results-based plan, with the practical support, knowledge, resources, and accountability to implement and achieve it.

Most importantly, by working together, my clients bloom and grow in their confidence and self-worth, to often exceed their business and financial goals.

It’s always very exciting to witness their personal and professional transformations.

I experienced this myself when I hired a private coach for 18 months.

It was a hefty investment at the time, and I really had to stretch and step out of my comfort zone.

However, it turned into a very significant year for me personally and professionally.

I know that we are all at various stages in our businesses, plus we are all individually unique, which means we want different levels of support.

So, if you would like insights, inspiration, accountability and support to grow your business, I thought I would share my private coaching programme options, which are tailored to your situation…

Individual sessions. If you have a specific issue you need help with, for example, creating a talk or a proposal, or you need creative solutions for your business, then individual focused sessions of 60 to 90 minutes, may be just what you need to save you time and money and to get you on track quickly.

My 3 month and 6 month Coaching programmes are ideal if you are committed to making a significant difference in your business, and you would love personal support, every week, to grow and transform your business and your life.

Small Group Coaching for up to 4 individuals. This is a a wonderfully uplifting way to share insights and experience, receive support and ideas, as well as being an affordable investment.

When you receive this high level of personal attention it's a highly exciting, motivating and valuable experience.

You’ll notice, quite rapidly, what a difference it can make for your business, your relationships, your wellbeing, and your financial situation.

Would you like to know more?

Please click the image below or contact me here and we can arrange a time to speak.

Or please do reply to this email if you have any questions.

I would love to support you.

Here's to your success!

What would you do if you were unstoppable?

Hello Theo,

Have you read Gay Hendrick’s book The Big Leap?

Gay writes about the Upper Limit Problem, a negative emotional reaction or a form of self-sabotage, that can occur when we start to achieve success beyond what we’re accustomed to.

It’s usually based on perception, beliefs, and past experiences.

Recognizing and overcoming any self-imposed limits (many of us have them), is essential if we want to achieve and sustain success.

As it’s now September, with a sense of renewed energy, I'm challenging any doubt and fear, consciously overcoming barriers to success and happiness, and aiming for a new reality.

With a combination of mindset shifts, planning, consistent effort, and a willingness to step out of the comfort zone, what do you believe you could achieve?

Read on for easy to implement solutions…

Cultivate a growth mindset. Believe in your capabilities and embrace opportunities to learn and grow. You are the creator of your life, regardless of your situation and circumstances.

Regularly challenge yourself with tasks and experiences which you might feel are beyond your current abilities or confidence level. You might be amazed at how skilled and talented you are. One of my friends has just completed a course learning how to make leather goods and I'm incredibly impressed at what she has created. I can see her starting a new and profitable business.

Use visualization techniques to imagine yourself successfully achieving your goals.

Be willing to adapt and adjust your approach. Assess what's working, what isn't, and make changes. I like to track and review my progress monthly and quarterly, and then make decisions about what to do differently and what to let go of.

Connect with others who inspire you to stretch beyond your comfort zone. Find new networks of people who can offer valuable feedback, experience, encouragement, and accountability.

Embrace failure as a learning experience, where you can analyse what went wrong and how you can change your approach.

Spend time in new environments. One year I travelled around India on my own. I admit I was VERY nervous before I went. However, it was an amazing trip, and my journey opened my mind to new experiences and ideas, which would never have been possible sitting at my desk.

A resource I use every day ...

As a very visual person I know how important it is for me to use images which reflect my brand, capture my audience’s attention, and reflect the value of my work.

Even though I love taking my own photos, I’m not a professional photographer and I know, from experience, it's very time-consuming searching for quality images which don’t cost a fortune to purchase.

So a few years ago, I signed up with Haute Stock, which is a beautifully curated photo and video membership site.

It’s one of the best investments I’ve made in my business, and I regularly use the images for my website, social media, reels, newsletter and much more.

As a long term member, I’m delighted to be able to share that Haute Stock has given me a 15% off code: susanloves

Just click my affiliate link HERE and apply the code.

If you have any questions, I'm very happy to share more information.

This summer we travelled to France and stayed in the beautiful and historic city of Bordeaux and the surrounding wine region. I loved the architecture, balconies, museums, markets and of course the wine!

Have a fabulous September!
