I was interested to read in a recent study by Nicholas A. Christakis and James H. Fowler, in their book 'Connected: How Your Friends' Friends' Friends' Affect Everything You Feel, Think and Do', that the average person is influenced by 1000 other people, without realizing it.
There are the people we are directly connected to, then everyone connected to those people and everyone those people are connected to!
It makes sense when I think about the incredible connectivity that we have through the internet, social media and other forms of communication.
And how this opens up many more opportunities for us to have meaningful, influential and impactful lives through the work we do.
But I wonder to what extent we are conscious of impacting and influencing others?
And to what extent are we influenced by others, perhaps unconsciously?
It's a topic we're going to delve into at my next Meet & Mingle on Thursday 16 May 2019 at the Charlotte Street Hotel, London, as I believe becoming aware of our own influence and impact can make a big difference in the way we show up, what we communicate and who we connect with in business.
